Kyle Lindsey knew since he was a young boy that he wanted to be a paramedic. He somehow convinced his parents to turn their basement into a make-shift emergency room equipped with sliding curtains, bedside tables and overhead lighting. As a toddler, he turned his Big Wheels bike into an ambulance – fully loaded with a wagon and medical toolbox.
Kyle graduated from Harper Creek High School in 2005 and attended Kellogg Community College to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a paramedic. Shortly after graduation, he began working for LifeCare Ambulance Service. In 2010, he joined the Leroy Township Fire Department as a paid on-call firefighter to serve our community even more. Many co-workers admired his ease and confidence when it came to emergency situations. He knew exactly what to do and did it with a big smile on his face. Kyle went back to school last year for a Mortuary Science Degree in hopes of starting his own funeral home to continue to care for families.
Kyle was a true friend and had a kind heart. He made everyone feel like they were his best friend and always put their needs before his own. He will truly be missed.
Proceeds from t-shirt sales will go into The Kyle Lindsey Memorial EMS Fund through the Battle Creek Community Foundation. This Memorial Fund will help future EMS students at Kellogg Community College pay for their education.
